British Forces stay in contact with home

The days of our troops and their loved ones communicating via a solitary letter are long gone. These days members of our armed forces can be united with loved ones via their own online community. E-bluey not only provides members of the armed forces regular contact with home but has also created an online support network for families of the men and women serving overseas.

Manchester design and marketing agency Walsh Simmons have been working behalf of the BFPO (British Forces Post Office) and have designed and produced campaign literature, instruction manuals and a microsite to raise awareness of the service, amongst those in active service and their families.

To highlight the potential effects of climate change in the UK over the next century we were appointed by The Co-operative Bank to design and build their online climate change tracker.

Working in partnership with the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP), it both draws attention to the dangers of climate change whilst incorporating the very latest in digital technology.

Clients avoid 'green fatigue' with Walsh Simmons

Clients avoid 'green fatigue' with Walsh Simmons

So many more clients are bringing green or ethical marketing to the top of their agenda. In fact over the last 12 months, just over 70% of our projects have been developed with a social or ethical bias. Clients include The Co-operative Bank, who is celebrating their 15 year old ethical policy, GE Capital Solutions, Help the Hospices and Futurebuilders. However, the overriding issue is not about whether to develop a green campaign but how to deliver it honestly, realistically and with integrity.

Our clients are looking for intelligent, deep green thinking. And it that approach that has meant as the agency goes from strength to strength so to do the number of socially responsible campaigns we redevelop on our clients' behalf.

New booklet launched at party conferences

Help the Hospices have published a hard hitting information booklet about palliative care in the UK. The booklet, designed by Walsh Simmons is called 'How to avoid a bad death - a step by step guide' and was launched at the fringe meetings of all three major party conferences and particularly aimed at creating awareness in the Government about the lack of appropriate palliative care outside the hospice movement and the need for Government help with the shortfall of funding for the movement.

Our remit has included recruiting both exhibitors and attendees to the event via an EDM campaign, as well as designing and producing the careers brochure, handed out on the day.

Other projects in the pipeline include a marketing campaign to support the Talking Science lectures and a web portal intended to be a hub for all that matters to those involved in SET.
